On April 22, 2023, Dylan McMahan tragically lost his life in an accident, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and passion. Dylan was an incredible person who touched the lives of many, and he is deeply missed every day. He found joy and purpose in welding, a craft he truly loved. However, like many starting out in the trades, Dylan faced challenges in navigating the path to the certifications he needed. Traditional college courses weren’t the right fit for him—but he excelled working with his hands and was determined to build a meaningful career.
In the wake of his passing, Dylan’s family and friends united to honor his memory by creating something meaningful—an opportunity to help others facing similar challenges. From that vision, The DMAC Foundation was born. (DMAC is a nickname for Dylan.)
Officially launched in 2024 with the inaugural DMAC Fest, the foundation brought the community together for a day of live music, food, and connection. Proceeds from the event were used to establish a scholarship through the Calhoun Foundation at Calhoun Community College, supporting individuals pursuing careers in the trades.
Today, The DMAC Foundation continues its mission: to empower individuals to build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. By providing support for trade programs and vocational education, we aim to open doors for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
We invite you to join us in carrying forward Dylan’s legacy—creating pathways, changing lives, and making a lasting impact.
